About Research
The Research and Innovation Division at KIU is dedicated to fostering a vibrant research culture, driving innovation, and facilitating impactful collaborations across disciplines. We seek to provide a creative and supportive environment where ideas are generated and can flourish.
The excellence and diversity of our research across the Faculties of Nursing, Behavioral Sciences, Health Sciences, Management, Computer Sciences and Engineering, and Biomedical Sciences, positions us to make significant contributions to the global innovation agenda and, by conveying the implications of our research, to contribute to the formulation of policy.
In addition to activities ongoing within our faculties, we have identified strategic research initiatives and fostered interdisciplinary research collaborations that build on the existing research base at KIU to tackle challenges that can only be addressed by multidisciplinary teams of researchers. We aim to provide academic leadership in these areas and to develop strategic partnerships with institutions and industry partners around Sri Lanka and the world to advance research, and the impact of that research, in these fields.
