About the Research and Innovation Division

The Research and Innovation Division plays a central role in KIU University’s strategic development as a research-active institution. The division is responsible for coordinating and supporting research activity across all faculties, managing research ethics and governance processes, facilitating internal and external research funding, organizing KIU’s flagship research events, and building the partnerships and networks that amplify the reach and impact of KIU research.

The division works closely with academic staff, students, and external stakeholders to create an environment in which research can flourish — one that is characterized by intellectual curiosity, rigorous methodology, ethical integrity, and a genuine commitment to producing knowledge that makes a difference.

Through initiatives such as the Multidisciplinary Research Conference (MRC), KIU brings together researchers from across disciplines and institutions to share findings, forge collaborations, and contribute to the broader advancement of knowledge in Sri Lanka and beyond. These events reflect the division’s belief that research is most powerful when it is shared, discussed, and built upon by a community of engaged and committed scholars.

MRC 2026 – Multidisciplinary Research Conference

KIU University’s Multidisciplinary Research Conference (MRC) is one of the institution’s flagship research events, bringing together academics, researchers, postgraduate students, and industry professionals from across disciplines for a day of knowledge sharing, scholarly discussion, and intellectual exchange. MRC 2026 is on the horizon, and the Research and Innovation Division will be announcing full details — including call for papers, submission guidelines, registration information, and keynote speakers — in due course.

Researchers interested in presenting at MRC 2026 or attending as delegates are encouraged to contact the Research and Innovation Division to register their interest and ensure they receive timely updates as details are confirmed.
