After becoming a registered student at KIU, you will participate in a week-long orientation programme designed to help you settle smoothly into university life. The orientation includes the following:

Your Faculty and Student Liaison Office will share your arrival date and induction details. On arrival, report to the designated point where staff will welcome you and guide you through orientation activities. At KIU, we provide free preparatory courses in English and IT for all registered students before you begin your academic sessions. These courses are designed to help you build confidence and develop essential skills needed for university learning.
In addition, we offer elementary, intermediate, and advanced English courses throughout your academic year at no cost. This ensures that every student receives ongoing support in language literacy, helping you succeed in your studies and communicate effectively in academic and professional settings.
At KIU, your health, wellbeing, and safety are a priority. We have a strong support system in place across the University to ensure you feel cared for and supported throughout your studies.
KIU provides access to an on-campus doctor and an acupuncture clinic to support students’ physical health and wellbeing. In addition, several government hospitals are located within close proximity to the University, ensuring timely access to further medical care when required.
Information on available healthcare facilities and services will be shared during induction and through student support channels. KIU also has a dedicated Counselling Unit and a Crisis Support Center, offering quick, confidential support for students and staff experiencing emotional or mental health difficulties.
If you need help at any point, support services are available, and you are encouraged to reach out early.
One of the most important items you will receive during your first few days at KIU is your Student ID Card, Loker Keys and KIU Internal Slippers.
Above items will be provided to you by Student Liaisons Office when you arrive. If you did not provide relevant information on time, you should contact Student Liaisons Office Representative to arrange these.
When you arrive at KIU, you will receive your KIU email address. These credentials will allow you to access your student portal, learning platforms, library resources, and other essential services.

The handbook contains essential information about your degree programme, modules, recommended reading materials, dress code, general rules and regulations, and examination procedures. All students are required to read the handbook thoroughly and complete the Student Handbook Awareness Form to confirm that you are aware of the contents of the handbook.

You can log in to the KIU Student Portal using your student credentials to view your profile, academic information, and official communications.
It’s important to keep your student details up to date. You can edit your name and contact information directly through the KIU Student Portal. Please note that any changes must be approved by the Student Liaison Office (SLO) representative before they are reflected in your profile.
