CCC Line 1333 – KIU Crisis Support Center

The CCC Line 1333 KIU initiative is a collaborative effort between the Department of Psychology at KIU University and the CCC Line Foundation 1333, Sri Lanka’s national mental health helpline. This partnership led to the establishment of the country’s first on-campus Crisis Support Center, providing immediate emotional support and mental health assistance to students and staff.

This initiative reflects KIU’s strong commitment to student well-being, mental health awareness, and accessible psychological support within the university environment.

Key Partner: CCC Line Foundation 1333 is Sri Lanka’s national crisis helpline, offering professional support for individuals experiencing emotional distress, mental health challenges, or crisis situations. Through this partnership, KIU ensures that students have direct access to reliable and confidential support services.

Main Activities:

  • 24/7 crisis support and emotional assistance.
  • On-campus counseling and referral services.
  • Awareness and mental health promotion programs.
  • Volunteer training and student engagement initiatives.
  • In-house training programs for psychology students to enhance their practical skills in crisis response and support

Through the CCC Line 1333 KIU initiative, students gain access to immediate and confidential mental health support within the university campus. This helps reduce stigma, encourages open conversations about mental well-being, and ensures timely intervention when needed.

In addition, psychology students benefit from hands-on training opportunities, allowing them to develop practical skills in counseling, crisis management, and mental health support.

The establishment of the CCC Line 1333 KIU Crisis Support Center marks a significant step forward in integrating mental health services into higher education in Sri Lanka. It strengthens KIU’s role as a student-centered institution that prioritizes both academic success and emotional well-being.

By partnering with CCC Line 1333, KIU University continues to lead in providing accessible mental health support within the academic environment. The CCC Line 1333 KIU initiative ensures that students receive the care, guidance, and support they need to thrive both personally and academically.

Welcome from the KIU Students' Union

“My time at Cambridge has been the most rewarding few years of my life. I applied with an idea of Cambridge as this distant mythical place where I couldn’t quite
imagine myself belonging, but I now struggle to see myself anywhere else.

The opportunities at Cambridge are like no other – from participating in clubs and societies to finding your way around College and learning to live independently. Most of all, the chance to study a subject you love while surrounded by students and academics who are just as passionate about it as you are leaves you with skills to take forward into life far beyond those you were expecting when you applied. I cannot encourage you enough to read on and then take the leap and apply!”
