Student Counselling Unit and Academic Mentoring
The Student Counselling and Academic Mentoring Unit at KIU supports students through personal, academic, and social challenges, promoting positive mental health and well-being. It offers individual and group counselling, crisis intervention, referrals, and outreach programs tailored to diverse student needs. Merged with the mentoring unit, it also empowers students to build confidence and self reliance through developmental mentoring relationships. Emphasising holistic growth, the unit plays a key role in enhancing students’ academic success and personal development, fostering resilience and long term career self-management within a supportive university environment.
Welcome from the KIU Students' Union
“My time at Cambridge has been the most rewarding few years of my life. I applied with an idea of Cambridge as this distant mythical place where I couldn’t quite
imagine myself belonging, but I now struggle to see myself anywhere else.
The opportunities at Cambridge are like no other – from participating in clubs and societies to finding your way around College and learning to live independently. Most of all, the chance to study a subject you love while surrounded by students and academics who are just as passionate about it as you are leaves you with skills to take forward into life far beyond those you were expecting when you applied. I cannot encourage you enough to read on and then take the leap and apply!”
