KIU BEST SCIENTIST AWARD 2023

 

KIU is a non-state sector higher education institute established in Sri Lanka to fulfil the higher education demand of prospective local and international students whilst expanding higher education opportunities. The opportunity to recognize and promote research among staff was brought about by the untiring effort of Dr. Jagath Senevirathne, the president/ CEO and Managing Director of KIU and the Honorary Vice chancellor of KIU, Senior Professor Neluka Fernando.

In view of promoting and strengthening the research activities of KIU, the Board of Management of KIU has initiated an award scheme for the permanent staff members attached to KIU. This is developed as a stratagem to increase awareness and interest towards research among the academic and non-academic staff and would offer an opportunity for the researchers to gain recognition for their Research.

Objectives: The objective of the KIU Best Scientist Award 2023 is to give recognition and reward to the researchers affiliated with KIU who have conducted excellent research.

Eligibility: Eligible scientists will be selected based on the AD Scientific Index (Alper-Doger Scientific Index), using below criteria, H index of 2 or above Citations 12 or above The awarding of certificates and letters of appreciation will be conducted at the Convocation Ceremony, 27th of August 2023. The AD Scientific Index (Alper-Doger Scientific Index), is a ranking and analysis system based on the scientific performance of individual scientists. This index considers the total and last 6 years’ values of the following in Google Scholar. 10 index h-index citation The “AD Scientific Index” shows the ranking of scientists by 11 subject and 256 branch, Agriculture & Forestry Arts Design and Architecture Business & Management Economics & Econometrics Education Engineering & Technology History Philosophy Theology Law / Law and Legal Studies Medical and Health Sciences Natural Sciences Social Sciences and Others 22,350 institution, 218 country, 10 region (Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, Oceania, Arab League, EECA, BRICS, Latin America and COMESA) included in the ranking system.
