ICT Committee

Description 

The ICT Committee of Kaatsu International University (KIU) is a dedicated body responsible for overseeing and managing the university’s information and communication technology infrastructure. This committee ensures that KIU’s ICT resources are effectively utilized, maintained, and upgraded to support the academic, administrative, and operational functions of the university. The committee comprises faculty members, IT staff, and administrative representatives who collaborate to enhance the digital experience for students, staff, and faculty. 

Overview of Activities Undertaken by the ICT Committee

Website Updates: The ICT Committee regularly reviews and updates the university’s website to ensure that information is current, accurate, and accessible. This includes updating academic programs, news, events, and other relevant content to keep the university community and external stakeholders informed. 

Learning Management System (LMS) & Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Updates: The committee oversees the maintenance and enhancement of the LMS and ERP systems. This includes addressing technical issues, implementing new features, and ensuring seamless integration with other university systems to improve the efficiency of academic and administrative processes. 

Monthly Report on IT Infrastructure: The ICT Committee compiles and reviews monthly reports on the university’s IT infrastructure, including the status of the firewall, Office 365 services, and other critical systems. This helps in identifying potential issues, assessing system performance, and planning for future upgrades. 

Staff Requests for ICT Resources: The committee evaluates and addresses requests from faculty and staff for ICT resources. This can include hardware, software, training, and other support to enhance teaching, research, and administrative activities.

New Matters and Challenges: The ICT Committee addresses new ICT-related matters and challenges as they arise. This involves assessing the impact, devising solutions, and implementing changes to ensure that the university’s ICT infrastructure remains robust and responsive to evolving needs.
