KIU Gender Equality Committee (GEE)

Gender Equity and Equality (GEE) Committee

The KIU Gender Equality Committee (GEE) is dedicated to creating an inclusive, respectful, and equitable university environment for all students, academic staff, and administrative personnel. As a key initiative within KIU University, the committee works to ensure that every individual has equal access to opportunities, rights, and a safe learning space.

The KIU Gender Equality Committee actively promotes awareness on gender equity, inclusion, and diversity across all areas of university life. Through structured programs, workshops, and policy initiatives, the committee strives to eliminate discrimination and foster a culture of respect and understanding within the university community.

A key responsibility of the GEE Committee is overseeing the implementation of the Gender Equality Action Plan and ensuring that all cases related to Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) are handled with transparency, sensitivity, and accountability. The committee works closely with university leadership to maintain ethical standards and support affected individuals.

In addition, the KIU Gender Equality Committee integrates gender perspectives into academic processes, institutional policies, and student engagement activities. By doing so, KIU strengthens its commitment to fairness, empowerment, and equal opportunity for everyone.

Through continuous monitoring, collaboration, and awareness-building, the KIU Gender Equality Committee plays a vital role in shaping a supportive and inclusive campus culture that reflects the university’s core values of respect, equality, and integrity.

Welcome from the KIU Students' Union

“My time at Cambridge has been the most rewarding few years of my life. I applied with an idea of Cambridge as this distant mythical place where I couldn’t quite
imagine myself belonging, but I now struggle to see myself anywhere else.

The opportunities at Cambridge are like no other – from participating in clubs and societies to finding your way around College and learning to live independently. Most of all, the chance to study a subject you love while surrounded by students and academics who are just as passionate about it as you are leaves you with skills to take forward into life far beyond those you were expecting when you applied. I cannot encourage you enough to read on and then take the leap and apply!”
