The Gender Equity and Equality (GEE) Committee of KIU is committed to creating a university environment where all individuals—students, academic, administrative, and support staff—enjoy equal rights, opportunities, and respect. The Committee comprises representatives from across the university community and functions under the leadership of the Vice Chancellor.
The GEE Committee leads initiatives to promote awareness, prevent discrimination, and strengthen gender-responsive practices in all university activities. It also monitors the implementation of the Gender Equality Action Plan and ensures timely and transparent handling of any cases related to Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV). Through continuous review and collaboration, the Committee works to integrate gender perspectives into policies, academic processes, and institutional culture—promoting inclusivity, empowerment, and zero tolerance toward any form of harassment or inequity within KIU.
“My time at Cambridge has been the most rewarding few years of my life. I applied with an idea of Cambridge as this distant mythical place where I couldn’t quite
imagine myself belonging, but I now struggle to see myself anywhere else.
The opportunities at Cambridge are like no other – from participating in clubs and societies to finding your way around College and learning to live independently. Most of all, the chance to study a subject you love while surrounded by students and academics who are just as passionate about it as you are leaves you with skills to take forward into life far beyond those you were expecting when you applied. I cannot encourage you enough to read on and then take the leap and apply!”
