The Department of Psychology organized a special workshop on 04th February 2024 for Batch 7 students, conducted by Dr. Gamithri Karunasena, Senior Research Fellow at The University of New South Wales, Sydney, and Founder of Coaching With Dr. Gami. The session focused on exposing students to the field of psychological research and guiding them on how to approach and apply for research grants. Dr. Karunasena shared valuable insights on current research trends, funding opportunities, and effective grant-writing strategies. Students actively participated in discussions, gaining practical knowledge and confidence to pursue future academic and professional research endeavors.

Workshop 2

The “Empowered Minds: Harnessing Mindfulness to Build Academic Resilience” workshop was conducted by Senior Professor Piyanjali de Zoysa, Senior Professor of Clinical Psychology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo, to help students strengthen their focus, emotional well-being, and resilience in their academic journey.
