The KIU Career Guidance Unit (CGU) was established in December 2018 under the Quality Assurance Unit to support students in building successful and meaningful careers. As part of KIU Career Guidance initiatives, the unit is dedicated to fostering the development of talented and capable graduates through structured programs, workshops, and career-focused activities.
Recognizing the importance of career readiness in today’s competitive world, the CGU provides students with the knowledge, skills, and professional guidance needed to navigate their future career paths with confidence. Through personalized support and expert advice, the unit empowers students to make informed career decisions and achieve long-term success.
To generate a capable future workforce from KIU along with necessary skills and professionalism to compete in the job market.
To ensure employability, empowering undergraduates with required skills, knowledge, and competencies, to meet the present-day requirements.
• To develop and maintain an online database for students on job training opportunities and job placements.
• Career counselling for students from the first year onwards and making them focus on their future career goals.
• To guide students to choose their career path according to their specialized areas and align to higher studies.
• To organize career awareness events, programmes, seminars, and lectures for KIU students.
In 2024, the KIU Career Guidance Unit successfully organized a Career Fair with participation from over 50 industry partners. This event provided students with direct access to employers and valuable career opportunities.
Additionally, the unit conducted career development workshops every two months, helping students enhance their professional skills and prepare for the job market. Through these initiatives, KIU continues to support students in their journey toward professional success.
“My time at Cambridge has been the most rewarding few years of my life. I applied with an idea of Cambridge as this distant mythical place where I couldn’t quite
imagine myself belonging, but I now struggle to see myself anywhere else.
The opportunities at Cambridge are like no other – from participating in clubs and societies to finding your way around College and learning to live independently. Most of all, the chance to study a subject you love while surrounded by students and academics who are just as passionate about it as you are leaves you with skills to take forward into life far beyond those you were expecting when you applied. I cannot encourage you enough to read on and then take the leap and apply!”
